Welcome to our Immigration Wikispace. You are responsible for creating and editing the content on this page. I will monitor the content as it is created and edited to insure that this space remains helpful to our learning.
On Day 1 of the week of October 27th, you will use this space to write a paragraph summarizing the experience of the immigrant group that you researched last week. So that the information is consistent in its content and presentation, here are some guidelines on writing your paragraph:
1) Select "Heading 2" for your title.
2) Your title should clearly state the subject of the paragraph. Example:
Scottish Immigration to America in the 1800's
3) From here, write a clear and concise paragraph about your immigrant group. Include:
- How many people came over from that nation in the century that your ancestors arrived in America.
- Common factors which pushed immigrants from that nation
- Common factors which pulled immigrants from that nation to America
- Typical patterns of settlement- Where did they (the group you are researching) settle in the U.S.?
- Common industries in which this group found employment in America
Editing:
If you and another student researched the same group, you may edit one another's paragraph. Please consult with Mrs. Ostrer before your delete anything another student has written. Where possible, edit by adding detail.
